It’s magic! A free way to see sold-out Potter Fest

PITMAN – No spell and flick of the magic wand can conjure a ticket to the sold-out Pitman Potter Festival Saturday.

While wizards won’t be a part of the paid Hogwarts house-sorting ceremony, there are tons of events going on in Uptown Pitman that don’t need a wristband or are magically free.

The festival kicks off Friday night with a 6 p.m. showing of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” at Broadway Theatre of Pitman. Admission is $5.

Muggles and wizards descend on Pitman Saturday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. when Uptown Pitman completes its transformation to a magical, spellbinding world.

DIAGON BROADWAY

Make your magic: Harry Potter-themed festival starts at 10 a.m. at Restored Antiquity with owners Amanda Lampkin and Angela Porto leading magic wand-making classes. Build your wand by hand before the festival begins and take it it to the free events in the borough parks. The quick class – lasting about 25 minutes – costs $25.

Handmade spells: The Scarecrow Factory and Olde Pear Primitives – which share a storefront on Broadway – have handmade Harry Potter-inspired items for sale, including brooms.

Flying school: Caffeinated Cyclist holds Quidditch flying school on its newest model Nimbus.

Free Dobby: Donate a pair of socks or $1 when you stop by SharpLink staffing, and you can free Dobby! The donations benefit Youth Voice, the Youth Leadership Council of the Kids Caring Foundation.
