Action News at My Fair Lady

Action News went to My Fair Lady, a consignment boutique at 20 S. Broadway in Pitman, New Jersey, to see if we could re-create the looks from the pages of magazines there.

Despite what you might think about resale clothing, just about all the stock here is less than two years old. “We don’t take things over two years old,” explains My Fair Lady manager Jinger Cahill. “We have people who are shopaholics that come in here who buy things and then consign them within a couple of months,” she says. Cahill showed us looks matching trends from this month’s fashion magazines using her stock.

Sparkly clutch bags here cost about $25, instead of up to $100 new. Colorful peep-toe pumps? Here, turquoise shoes from Pink are just $35.75 and black ones from BCBG are just a dollar more. Bright gloves are less than $10 a pair. I don’t know what Ivanka Trump paid for her turquoise dress, but here you can buy a similar one from Adrianna Appel with the $208 price tag on it for $45. “Coats are moving faster than I’ve seen before,” Cahill says. “Last year, they didn’t move so quickly, this year they’re moving within a week.” Ralph Lauren’s plaid jacket sells for $800 — at My Fair Lady, a similar one from Jones New York coat is $35.75. Instead of $179, you can get a fur-trimmed down vest for $25.75. And we found similar look-alike savings on a lace bustier and light-washed jeans, a little black lace dress, and even a dress that looks like the one Penelope Cruz wore to the Oscars. It’s $171.

My Fair Lady doesn’t have its own website, but you can call the store at 856-256-0111.
